Today's tarot card is the 7 of Pentacles

Pentacles are the element of earth and deals with matters of the material – job, money, health, etc. Before us stands a farmer leaning on his hoe. It's taken a great deal of effort to get his crop to this point and the way hasn't been easy. Notice that while he leans on his hoe to rest, he is not leaning for support as is the case in the 9 of Wands. Our farmer is admiring the growth and bounty his labors have brought forth. He is watchful, focused, taking nothing for granted. However, past his expression of hope and anticipation, there is the subtler shading of gratitude. He is grateful not only for his harvest, but also for his own skill set and the prime conditions that allowed his crop to flourish. To the right we see another plant springing up, a shoot from the larger one perhaps. His crop is now self-sustaining because he knows the keys to success: Focus, responding to change instead of reacting and not engaging the ego. These are good lessons for all of us.
