Full Wolf Moon in Cancer January 4, 2015 – "Bark at the Moon"

#7, The Chariot from Corrine Kenner
and John J. Blumen's stellar deck,
"The Wizard's Tarot"©
We get a 'twofer' on January 4th. Not only does Mercury move into Aquarius that day, but our Full Wolf Moon arrives at 8:53 p.m. PST.  This month's Full Moon occurs in 14 degrees and thirty-one minutes of Cancer. Lady Moon rules the sign of the Crab and so we say the Moon is exalted when she resides in this sign.  It's a little more complicated this month, however. In this case her bark is equal to her bite. While we normally look forward to a powerful Moon in Cancer for manifesting our goals there are some additional factors adding riptides to January's Full Moon.

Cancer is a cardinal sign, meaning that it is first sign of a given season. Cardinal energy acts as an instigator. It’s restless and come Full Moon time, perhaps a little edgy. Properly channeled, this energy not only motivates you, but  lifts you up and over the obstacles in your path.  Aptly, tarot's card for the sign of Cancer the Crab is #7, The Chariot – reaching your goals, focusing your intent and knowing who you are. Also remember that Cancer is a water sign and like all water signs, carries a deep, emotional subtext.

all about.  Full Moons are about emotions and culmination. Our Full Wolf Moon in Cancer asks us to consider the nurturing strength of our families and close friends.  It suggests that we draw their support as a foundation for refining our goals. Ask yourself who supports you on your path.  Are their people in your life who don't support your aspirations? If not, get new ones.
Seriously.  This is your life. You can live it to please yourself, or live it by other people's standards and end up pleasing no one. This Full Moon allow yourself time to enjoy the comfort and security of your own home while you reflect on the direction you want for your life.  Ground yourself and get a sense of where you belong.

This Full Moon in Cancer forms a T- square with Uranus in Aires and Pluto in Capricorn, thereby activating that harbinger of sweeping change, the Uranus/Pluto square.  The South Node is also square with Uranus and the whole mess forms a Grand Cross. Ouch! Emotions run high and it's easy to feel anxious and lack certainty.  Spend extra time grounding yourself through your favorite methods. Also – and this is important – be conscious of what emotional baggage belongs to you and what doesn’t. Remember that it's not your job to be anyone's emotional bellboy.  Don't carry anyone else's baggage but your own.  When conflicts occur, try to respond thoughtfully rather than react to fiery words.

The tarot cards to watch for this Full Moon period are:

The Moon    –    #2, The High Priestess

Cancer        –    #7, The Chariot

Uranus        –    The Fool

Aires           –    #4, The Emperor

Pluto           –    #13, Death, or Transformation

Capricorn    –    #15, The Devil

Libra           –    #11, Justice

There's still lots of good energy in this Full Moon, though it is very intense.  Ease yourself into it and go with the flow.

Full Wolf Moon in Cancer, January 15, 2014 – “Welcome Home”

#7, tarot's The Chariot, helps you rise
above during this Full Moon in Cancer
from "Wizard's Tarot"© by John J. Blumen and
Corrine Kenner
This January is the month of cardinal energy (See blog: "Astrological Trends For January 2014" ).  On January 15th at 8:52 p.m., PST, we welcome the Full Wolf Moon at 25 degrees and 58 minutes of Cancer (yet another cardinal sign). Cardinal energy acts as on instigator. It’s restless and come Full Moon time, perhaps a little edgy. Properly channeled, this energy will not only motivate you, but once you take action towards your goals, it will lift you up and over the obstacles in your path.  Aptly, tarot's card for the sign of Cancer the Crab is #7, The Chariot – reaching your goals, focusing your intent and knowing who you are.

The Moon is high-functioning is Cancer, its home sign.  Home, hearth and foundations are what Cancer is all about.  Full Moons are about emotions and culmination. Our Full Wolf Moon in Cancer asks us to consider the nurturing strength of our families and close friends.  Use their support as a foundation for refining the goals you’ve set for yourself this year. Are your family and friends unsupportive of you?  Get new ones.  Seriously.  Remember Venus is retrograde in Capricorn until the end of the month.  This is the perfect time to review your relationships and determine what their true value is for you. Are you paying for 24 karat gold and simply receiving gold-plate in return, or are you recklessly casting true diamonds away as if they were cubic zirconium?  You get the idea.  Full Moon in Cancer and Venus in Retrograde want you emotionally satisfied so you can put all that great cardinal energy to work for you this year.

Take time on the 15th and 16th to nurture yourself.  Just as
The Moon's tarot card, #2 The High Priestess
stands for indirect energy and intuition. from

Lady Moon reflects the Sun’s light, allow yourself time in the comfort and security of your own home to reflect on where you’re headed this month.  Ground yourself and get a sense of where you belong.  You have the entire world to choose from remember.  As you use Venus’ energy to help you review the events and people of your life, store away those special golden nugget memories so that you can pull them out to help light your way this year when the path you travel isn’t as well lit as it is right now.

On the plus side, warm-hearted Cancer Full Moons are imaginative, intuitive and creative.  They work well with Mercury in Aquarius (See Blog: "Mercury Moves to Aquarius" to express our thoughts and ideas. Full Moon in Cancer is a writer’s moon if every there was one. On the downside, and, yes, there is definitely one of those, Full Moon is Cancer can leave us feeling a little raw and exposed.  Cracked crab can feel vulnerable, moody and a little touchy.

January 26, 2013 - Full Wolf Moon In Leo

A Full Wolf is better than a Not So Full Wolf.  Ask Red Riding Hood if you don’t believe me.  This January’s Full Wolf Moon or, Old Moon, as it’s also known, occurs in 7 degrees, 24 minutes of Leo.  What makes this interesting is that the Sun, which is in direct opposition to this Leo Full Moon, happens to be in Aquarius. This means is that people with signs in either Aquarius or Leo may feel the pull of this Full Moon a little stronger than the rest of us.  That’s not a bad thing in this case.  All of us will get a tremendous boost to our creative sides this moon and enjoy finding new means of self-expression.

While Aquarius remains objective and more regimented this Full Moon, Leos will give vent to their free-spirited side.  Self-expression and proud individualism give Leo a winner’s attitude. Although these traits are also part of Aquarius’ makeup, this time Aquarians are surrendering some of their 'go it alone philosophy' in favor of letting the whole team play.  Oddly, it’s romantic Leo who claims that, not only should we spell team with an ‘I’, but that there's really no need for the rest of the players to leave the dugout. This is the perfect moon for Lions to rise and shine.

For most of us, conflicts on, or around the 26th will center on personal needs versus the good of the whole.  In tarot readings consider any of the Minor Arcana’s  5s that show up in your readings. %s are conflict cards. Where are they placed?  Are they the root of the matter, or simply a contributing factor?  Major Arcana’s #15, The Devil, might make a rather heavy-handed appearance.  Draw assistance from #14, Temperance, or the 2 of Pentacles for balance. In positive positions, The Queen of Wands and the ever abundant #3, The Empress will bring in their creative energy.  Look for assistance from the Knight of Wands to make things happen.  If you have questions about your tarot readings, email or message me here, or at on FaceBook - Lady Oracle Tarot.

Oh...and don’t go taking your goodies into the forest after dark.
